As part of the modernization of the technical park of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a new Belorus-1221.3 tractor was purchased. The head of the transport department of the Center, Vladimir Igorevich Nikov, spoke about this.
“The Belorus-1221.3 tractor is a modern, powerful machine. It has a high traction class and is designed to replace the outdated T-150, which was transferred to another unit, noted Vladimir Nikov. - The new equipment will make it possible to cultivate large areas, use wide-cut plows, cultivators, and use it in conjunction with heavy units. This will increase the efficiency of work in experimental areas, where processing speed is very important. Scientists determine the timing of sowing depending on crops and soil conditions, and machine operators provide technical support.
The tractor is under warranty and has increased reliability. Our department has highly qualified tractor drivers and machine operators, as well as the necessary spare parts and technical facilities for maintenance. Today we have tractors, combines, and equipment for agricultural work. Before the start of the sowing campaign, all equipment underwent technical inspection and the necessary training. The sowing time may differ for different crops, and now we are waiting for a team from the heads of scientific departments to immediately go into the field and start working”.
