The Methodological Commission of the Research Institute of Veterinary Science of Eastern Siberia — a branch of the SFSCA RAS — has conducted the acceptance of experiments under the project No. FNUU-2025-0002 "Scientifically grounded development of crop production, including issues of breeding, genetic selection, and marker-assisted selection of agricultural and industrial crops, as well as medicinal herbs, and methods of their cultivation, including biological and chemical plant protection." During the current reporting period, according to the work program, the field experiments evaluate the following medicinal plants: milk thistle, fennel, White amaranth, Purple amaranth, chamomile, marigold and the following less common fodder crops Sudan grass, fodder millet, Purple amaranth, fodder beans. The agroclimatic conditions this year differed from previous years due to a cold and severe spring drought. In May and the first ten-day period of June, there was a lack of productive moisture in the plowed soil layer. Air temperatures in June occasionally exceeded 35–37°C. Full emergence of medicinal plants was observed on July 8, while less common crops emerged on July 10 (23 and 25 days after sowing, respectively), following substantial rainfall and the establishment of optimal average daily temperatures. This occurred across all sowing methods.
