Yekaterina Aleksandrovna Voronina, Leading Agronomist of the Laboratory of Berry, Fruit and Ornamental Crops at the Buryat Research Institute of Agriculture — branch of the SFSCA RAS, has successfully completed an internship at the institutes of the SFSCA RAS.
In the Laboratory of Automation of Microclonal Propagation of the SFSCA RAS, she familiarized herself with the technology of cultivating medicinal herbs and seed potatoes in a controlled environment. Yekaterina Aleksandrovna studied the process of CO2 extraction and hydro distillation. She visited the experimental station of medicinal and aromatic plants, where she learned about promising species and the specifics of their cultivation.
In the experimental laboratory of the Siberia Physical and Engineering Institute of Agrarian Issues SFSCA RAS, she familiarized herself with the range of vegetable, flower, and fruit-berry crops. The scientist visited the collection plot of garden strawberries, which includes over 150 varieties. She attended a lecture on the technology of cultivating garden strawberries in open and protected grounds. She took part in a practical session on propagation methods of the studied crop, as well as the cutting of medicinal hyssop. The seeds of flower crops, seedlings, and cuttings of ornamental crops were transferred to the branch. Upon completion of the internship, a certificate was issued.
