Achievements in biochemistry, including the study of the biochemical composition of medicinal herbs, were discussed by Russian and Belarusian scientists at the 5th Belarusian Biochemical Congress "Modern Problems of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology." Kirill Sergeevich Golokhvast, Director of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, participated in the conference.
The Congress discussed joint research in the field of biochemistry, including the study of the biochemical composition of medicinal herbs by Russian and Belarusian scientists.
During the Congress, Kirill Sergeevich, Director of the SFSCA RAS, held talks with Oleg Evgenievich Kuznetsov, Director of the Institute of Biochemistry and Biologically Active Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and Vasily Genrikhovich Bogdan, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Medical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The Institute of Biochemistry of Biologically Active Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the SFSCA RAS discussed joint research and signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation. Prospects for preparing and submitting joint applications for grants from the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) were identified. Agreements were reached on further collaboration within the framework of bilateral scientific cooperation.
"SFSCA RAS and scientific organizations of the Republic of Belarus have long-standing friendly relations," noted the SFSCA RAS Director Kirill Sergeyevich Golokhvast. "Studying the biochemical composition of medicinal herbs is a priority area of modern research, which will enable breakthroughs in several scientific fields. To achieve results in joint work and ensure effective communication, an agreement has been reached on a high level of interaction with scientific partners, conducting joint research, and organizing scientific missions."
