Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies RAS (SFSCA RAS) and “All-Russian Research Institute of Chemical Plant Protection Products” (FSUE “ARRICPPP”) entered into a long-term agreement on strategic cooperation in the field of breeding, biochemistry of medicinal plants and the development of innovative technologies for agriculture and medicine. Signing of the agreement took place as part of the development of Russia’s scientific potential and strengthening the integration of fundamental and applied research.
The agreement provides for research into the biochemical potential of medicinal plants and agricultural crops, analysis of the influence of technological growing conditions (soil, climate, processing) on the qualitative and quantitative composition of biologically active compounds, as well as the search for new varieties with high bioactivity for medicine and agriculture.
The signed Agreement provides for the implementation of joint scientific projects, the creation of interdisciplinary working groups to develop innovative methods in the field of plant protection, breeding and biotechnology, experimental research in Siberia and other regions of Russia, mutual review of dissertations and scientific publications, organization of internships for young scientists and specialists.
As noted by the director of the SFSCA RAS, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Education Kirill Golokhvast, the agreement will unite the best traditions of fundamental and applied science: “Joint efforts will allow us to develop new plant varieties, increase their medicinal value and ensure the sustainable development of the agricultural sector,” emphasized the director of the SFSCA RAS.
