At the invitation of the Belarusian side, on May 29–30, 2025, the delegation of the SFSCA RAS headed by the Director K.S. Golokhvast attended the international scientific conference “Radiobiology and Environmental Safety – 2025” at the Institute of Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
At the plenary session, the Director of the SFSCA RAS, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Science in Biology Kirill Sergeevich Golokhvast presented the Director of the Institute of Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Candidate of Science in Medicine, Associate Professor Igor Anatolyevich Cheshik with a certificate conferring upon him the title of "Honorary Doctor of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences". In April 2025, the Academic Council of the SFSCA RAS made a decision to confer this title upon the Director of the Institute of Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Director of the SFSCA RAS, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Science in Biology Kirill Sergeevich Golokhvast, during his visit on May 28, 2025, presented the Rector of the Gomel State Medical University, Doctor of Science in Medicine, Professor Igor Olegovich Stoma with a certificate conferring upon him the title of "Honorary Doctor of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences". In April 2025, the Academic Council of the SFSCA RAS made a decision to confer this title upon the Rector of the Gomel State Medical University.
Also, during the work of the radioecological section of the conference, junior researcher of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Maria Evgenievna Mazanik, presented a report “Adaptation of soybean plants to the effects of ionizing radiation” based on the materials of dissertation research currently being conducted.
On May 28, 2025, the delegation of the SFSCA RAS headed by Director K.S. Golokhvast visited the Polesie State Radiation-Ecological Reserve. During the work, the delegation of the SFSCA RAS got acquainted with the history of the reserve and visited several sites in the Chernobyl exclusion zone. In addition, the parties signed an Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation and discussed the implementation of joint scientific research, in particular, the organization and implementation of joint research aimed at studying the adaptation of major agricultural crops to growing in conditions of radiation contamination.
