The Novosibirsk Region is successfully hosting Agrarian Week 2024. It was organized by the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The results of their activities at the forum were presented by scientific units of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SFSCA RAS).
The SFSCA RAS booth presented unique developments of scientific organizations. The technology of potato microclonal propagation allows obtaining potato minitubers ready for planting in a short period of time. Within two months, up to ten potato cuttings can be grown from them. For growing minitubers, an aeroponics unit developed in the Laboratory of Automation of Microclonal Propagation is used, the cost of which allows even small farms to purchase it. In agriculture, minitubers are usually categorized as “elite” seeds.
The SFSCA RAS successfully operates an installation for extraction of fat-soluble biologically active substances using liquid carbon dioxide in supercritical state. Employees of the Center presented samples of the obtained substances, which can be successfully used in the food industry and perfumery.
Developments of the laboratory of biological control of phytophages and phytopathogens of the SFSCA RAS allow analyzing and preserving soil microbiology, assessing its potential, which is important for obtaining high yields.
The experimental station “Elitnaya” – Branch of the SFSCA RAS became the winner of the exhibition of breeding animals “The Power of Siberia - 2024” and the competition of zootechnicians and breeders for breeding the Holstein cattle.
“The Siberian Agrofood Forum allows getting comprehensive information about what is happening in the agroindustrial complex now, and what the agrarian sector will be like in a few years,” noted Viktor Golikov, Head of the Scientific and Organizational Department. - Those scientific and technological developments, which were presented at the Agroforum of the SFSCA RAS, today are advanced for the agro-industrial complex by many indicators. At the exhibition we saw increased interest in our stand, a large number of contacts and requests for additional information. This indicates that our scientific activity is developing in the “right” direction and allows us addressing specific, applied problems of agricultural production “.
