The exhibition of scientific developments from the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences caught the attention of the visitors at the 'All-Russian Field Day – 2026,' which took place in Barnaul.
As the organizers note, the open-air exhibition of achievements in the agro-industrial complex has become one of the most significant in the event's history. Over 200 exhibitor companies participated, more than 300 pieces of equipment were showcased, and over 250 varieties and hybrids of agricultural crops were presented. In total, the exhibition was visited by more than 80,000 guests.
At the SFSCA RAS booth, the Center's scientific developments were showcased. For example, employees of the Siberian Research Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture (SIBIME)—a structural unit of SFSCA RAS—led by Head Researcher, Doctor of Science in Engineering Valery Nikolaevich Delyagin, presented a model of a two-stage method for neutralizing bioreactor exhaust gases. The new technology, based on low-temperature plasma, can not only drastically reduce emissions of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide, but also significantly cut enterprise costs.
At the Biochemistry Laboratory of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SFSCA RAS), work is underway to develop a new analytical method for express quality control of plant raw materials and extracts for the food and processing industry. This will make it possible to perform quick raw material analysis many times faster and cheaper than traditional chromatography, and when combined with supercritical fluid extraction, to create ready-made solutions for the food industry.
Under sanctions pressure and with foreign suppliers leaving the Russian market, the issue of import substitution has become especially acute in various industries. One of these areas is the labeling of food products, particularly chicken eggs. An industrial partner of the SFSCA RAS managed to create a Russian version of dyes that were previously monopolistically produced by an American company. The development team faced a double challenge: not only to create a paint formula based on ethyl alcohol but also to “trick” printers made by American companies, which dominate this market and are programmed to recognize only “original” cartridges. At the moment, the technology has been perfected, and paint production has been launched. The finished product is distributed to poultry farms through distributors and is in high demand.
As noted by Viktor Robertovich Golikov, head of the scientific and organizational department of SFSCA RAS, the main result of participating in the exhibition was the new partnerships and joint projects between representatives of science, business, and farmers from across the country, which were discussed during the “All-Russian Field Day – 2026”.
