Field trials conducted by the Laboratory of Cereal and Potato Protection and the Laboratory of Biological Control of Phytophages and Phytopathogens—units of the Siberian Research Institute of Agriculture, Biologization, and Digitalization (part of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences)—have undergone formal acceptance. The research for 2026 is being carried out within the framework of long-term stationary experiments on the Centre's experimental fields.
Experiments conducted by the Cereal and Potato Protection Laboratory involve wheat crops and potato plantings of various varieties, while the Laboratory for Biological Control of Phytophages and Phytopathogens has set up small-plot experiments on carrot seed-crop stands.
The commission noted that field trials primarily involve comprehensive studies on the use of various agents to enhance plant productivity—such as fertilizers, chemical and biological plant protection products, and plant growth regulators—as well as the refinement of methods for releasing the Trissolcus kozlovi parasitoid (which targets phytophagous bugs) into the wild and evaluating its effectiveness.
The scope and content of the field experiments (experimental design, measurements, and observations) are being carried out in accordance with R&D plans, as well as the work programs and schedules for 2026.
The commission considers that, overall, the field trials are conducted at a high scientific and methodological level, are well-presented, and their content is closely linked to addressing pressing issues in plant protection.
All field trials received a high rating from the methodological commission during the inspection of trials conducted by the Laboratory of Cereal and Potato Protection and the Laboratory of Biological Control of Phytophages and Phytopathogens at the Siberian Research Institute of Agriculture, Biologization, and Digitalization (part of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agro-BioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences). Research in 2026 is being conducted in stationary experiments at the experimental fields of the SFSCA RAS.
