The methodological commission of the Siberian Federal Scientific Centre of Agrobiotechnology (SFNCA RAS) conducted an inspection of field trials at the breeding center. Regarding red clover breeding, diploid and tetraploid varieties—representing both early- and late-maturing types—were evaluated in the breeding nursery and in competitive variety trials using both standard-row and wide-row sowing methods. A conservation nursery was also established for the new early-maturing tetraploid variety 'Assol'. The collection, breeding, and competitive variety-testing nurseries for Sudan grass and sorghum-Sudan grass hybrids have received high ratings. Primary seed production of the 'Novosibirskaya 84' Sudan grass variety is currently underway. Regarding spring rapeseed breeding, '00' and '000' type varieties are being evaluated in breeding and competitive nurseries.
Significant work has been accomplished in soybean breeding. Cultivars and breeding lines are being evaluated in collection, breeding, and control nurseries, as well as in competitive variety trials. Since 2021, research on genomic selection has been conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Cytology and Genetics (SB RAS), and sixth-generation hybrids are being studied in competitive variety trials. Primary seed production is underway for the SibNIIK 9 and SibNIIK 315 soybean varieties. Soybean varieties are being prepared for submission to the Russian Federation's State Variety Trials.
The commission evaluated the methodology for establishing field and laboratory experiments, the conduct of observations, the layout of experimental plots, and the maintenance of primary records. All field experiments received a high rating from the methodological commission.
