The Plant Protection Department of the SFSCA RAS conducts seasonal wheat sowing on experimental plots
As part of a government project, wheat varieties Novosibirskaya 41 and Suenga were planted on experimental plots. According to Oleg Venediktovich Kulagin, senior researcher at the Plant Protection Department of the SFSCA RAS, Candidate of Science in Agriculture, Novosibirskaya 41 is a medium-early wheat variety, while Suenga is an early variety. The crops on different plots differ in the amount and type of the fertilizers applied. The first shoots are expected to appear at the end of the week.
“This is the third and final year of the research,” noted Oleg Kulagin. ”Previously, the plants showed roughly the same yield per hectare, but after applying the selected fertilizers and supplements, the yield increased by 2-3 centners per hectare. The Novosibirskaya 41 variety showed particularly good results. After this year's research, a final report and recommendations for grain farms in the region will be prepared.”
