November 29, 2022 SFSCA RAS hosted the XXV Jubilee International Scientific and Practical Forum "Agricultural Science to Agricultural Production of Siberia, Mongolia, CIS and BRICS countries".
The forum was dedicated to the intensification of agricultural production, the economics of agricultural business, the analysis of the agricultural potential of the territories, the development of regional strategies of agriculture with the participation of scientists, government and business representatives.
Valentin Parmon, chairman of SB RAS, Academician RAS, opened the plenary session, noting that agriculture in Russia is now on the rise, and as President Vladimir Putin correctly noted five years ago: Novosibirsk is the scientific capital of Russia.
"And, indeed, we have the largest scientific agglomeration of Russia in Siberia, with three Akademgorodoks nearby. One of the important tasks of our time: returning respect to science and understanding that without science it is impossible to achieve breakthroughs in the economy and be a self-sufficient country," said Valentin Parmon.
Vladislav Panchenko, Vice-President and Academician RAS, sent the following greeting words to the forum: "I sincerely hope that the work of the XXV Jubilee International Scientific and Practical Forum will contribute to deeper understanding of the current state of the agro-industrial complex of the participating countries and will allow to take more constructive managerial decisions in order to create favorable environment for building up scientific and business activity in the general agro-industrial market".
The importance of the scientific and practical forum was supported in a written address by Anatoly Lokot, the Mayor of Novosibirsk: "This is a large-scale event of great importance for the participating countries, whose sustainable development largely determines the level of development of agricultural science and agro-industrial complex", - pointed out the mayor.
Evgeny Leshchenko, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk region:
"Our advantage is close interaction with science. Breeding achievements of Siberian scientists give competitive quality to Siberian varieties. A unique chance for scientists now is to prove their importance and demand for the real agro-industrial complex, and we will help with the subsidies and state support," - said Leshchenko.
Badarchin Byambaa, Vice President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS), President of the Mongolian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (MAAS), Academician MAS and MAAS, foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honorary Professor of the Mongolian National Academy of Sciences, spoke about long and fruitful cooperation with Russian colleagues and granted several government awards, including the Diploma of Honorary Doctor for the contribution to higher agricultural education and science in Mongolia.
Vladimir Vitalievich Azarenko, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Agrarian Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Professor Emeritus of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Republic of Belarus, noted the importance of ensuring food security and coordination of efforts of different countries, their integration and unity in addressing the global challenges of our time. He expressed his wishes of successful work and effective interaction to those present, and awarded prizes for the development of international cooperation.
The representatives of Kazakhstan reported on the joint celebration of the 300th anniversary of Russian science in Russia and in Kazakhstan.
Kirill Golokhvast, the Director of SFSCA RAS, introduced the achievements of the Siberian Scientific Center for 50 years to those present. He spoke about receiving new grants for the developments of SFSCA RAS and about the plans to increase the number of issues of the "Siberian Bulletin of Agricultural Sciences" up to 12 times a year, the establishment of the "Agronauka" publishing house and the newspaper "Kolos Sibiri". He also handed out awards.
As part of the XXV International Scientific and Practical Forum "AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE TO AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION OF SIBERIA, MONGOLIA, CIS AND BRICS countries" the following sections on topical areas were held:
1. Farming, crop and forage production
2. Plant protection
3. Ecology and protection of natural resources
4. Economics and Land Relations
5. Zootechnics and Biotechnology
6. Veterinary medicine
7. Mechanization, electrification, and automation
8. Processing and storage of agricultural products
9. Information technologies in agroindustry
All forum participants noted the special importance of these events and expressed their gratitude to the management of SFSCA RAS for the organization.
